Media Terminology

Social Realism- A style used to show what life was actually like at that period.

Postmodernism- Ideologized view on life to show a depiction of what the director wants you to see.
Intertextuality- Creating a media text that has references to another text.

Narrative-  How a media text is organised to create a story.
Diegesis- A narrator describes what is happening in the text.
Ideology- Ideas the producers have they want to portray through there text.
Oppositional reading- If the text is viewed from a different view than the producer intended it is an oppositional reading.
